Winter is a long time going in the midwest. Northern Youth of a certain vintage will no doubt the horrific winters of 1977 and 1978.

Northern Youth of a certain vintage will no doubt the horrific winters of 1977 and 1978. Those of us local to the Cleveland area were feeling particularly hard done by as we were enduring the New York Yankees dominance, made even more galling as George Steinbrenner was the owner, but had been born in the Cleveland suburbs. The steel and automotive industries were slowly moving towards their unfortunate demise in the area, and the mighty "Rim Wreckers" of Oberlin Senior High School were still 9 years away from their triumphant and as yet unrepeated run to the Ohio State High School Basketball Title.
As I look out at the snowy winter tableau spread out in front of me, I am reminded once again that the only way out of winter, is through it! And with that I will strap on my OBIE 1 and think warmer thoughts of the spring still to come.
Stay warm, stay safe, stay happy, and most importantly - STAY OBIE!
