We all need friends to have our backs. And the 1858 is no exception! The case back is based on the original OBIE casebook design, but allowing enough room for personal engraving, and also displaying our motto - "From a Friend, For a Friend".
The 1858 is a true mash-up of the OBIEs, a traditional "railroad" watch, and the promotional pocket chronograph produced FOR (not BY) the Oberlin Pharmaceutical Company of France back in the day. The 1858 affirms that there was NEVER an Oberlin Watch Company, but asks the question - What if there had been?
